Economic Challenges Facing Russian and Eurasia

Speakers:

Tymofiy Mylovanov is the President of the Kyiv School of Economics and the co-founder of VoxUkraine. In the past, he has served as the Deputy Chairman of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development, Trade, and Agriculture of Ukraine. He specializes in work on game theory, contract theory, and institutional design.

Mariya Omelicheva is a Professor of National Security Strategy at National War College, National Defense University. She specializes in international and Eurasian security, counterterrorism and human rights, democracy promotion in the post-Soviet territory, Russia’s foreign and security policy, and the terrorism/crime nexus in Eurasia. Her work has appeared in journals including Terrorism and Political Violence, Europe-Asia Studies, International Journal of Human Rights, and Central Asia Survey.

Sarah Wilson Sokhey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Colorado (Boulder) and an Associate Fellow at the International Center for the Study of Institutions and Development at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia. She specializes in the politics of economic reform, social policy, pensions, higher education, and business-state relations in Russia and other post-communist countries.

Andrei Semenov is a senior researcher at the Center for Comparative History and Politics at Perm State University and the Sociological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He specializes in contentious, electoral, and party politics in contemporary Russia. His most recent research appeared in Social Movements Studies, Demokratizatsiya, East European Studies, and The Journal of Social Policy Studies.
