The Program on New Approaches to Research and Security in Eurasia (PONARS Eurasia) is a network of over 125 academics, mainly from North America and post-Soviet Eurasia, advancing new approaches to research on security, politics, economics, and society in Russia and Eurasia. 

The Petrach Program on Ukraine conducts a large number of activities that improve the understanidng of Ukraine in the United States. The Petrach Ukrainian Studies Fellowship brings to the Institute scholars working on contemporary Ukraine in any area of the humanities and social sciences.

The Illiberalism Studies Program studies the different faces of illiberal politics and thought in today’s world, taking into account the diversty of their cultural context, their intellectual genealogoy, the sociology of their popular support, and their implications on the international scene. 

The Central Asia Program (CAP)  promotes high-quality academic research on contemporary Central Asia, and serves as an interface for the policy, academic, diplomatic, and business communities.
